ABOUT ME

Growing up in the mountain state of West Virginia, I developed a love for nature
and the wild critters found there.   I attended West Virginia University and earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.  Following a move to southwest Virginia, I began my teaching career.  Five years later, I earned a M.S. degree as a Reading Specialist from Radford University.  I have taught 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 6th Grade, Title 1 Reading/Math K-6th grades, and was a Language Arts Coordinator in a career spanning 33 years in public education.  My husband is a retired pharmacist.  We have three grown children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, three granddaughters and a grandson.  I enjoy gardening, mission work, raising puppies and traveling to new places, especially Alaska.
